For those who haven’t heard this song, it’s from Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin‘s first album Broom. And look, someone put it on YouTube, so here’s that video for your listening enjoyment:
SSLYBY is on a little mini tour right now and if you can go to one of the shows, DO IT. Tell them I sent you. If you go to either of the shows in Michigan, I’m more than likely going to be there, so say hi.
The driving around the state is not only to see some friends play some awesome shows (including new music from their upcoming third album) but to give my car a much bit of a travel stress test in prep of the upcoming longer drive. I need to see how many more repairs need to be made. I’ve already spent a bit of money fixing it up so if you’d be so kind, check out of blog post below and spare some change (or a some cash and get a print!) to help me make my trip and still afford to keep the site up. Thanks!

Hey for earth day , we are having that band play at our school, now I know the lyrics to thier songs!
You mean Ferris State? Where I will be tonight hanging with the band and rocking out? If so, I’ll see you there!
Sheesh, Someone wins the orchestrally overwhelmed lyrics award.
I heard “No more”, And something that might have been “forever”, but I’m not sure.
“So I talked till I couldn’t talk no more” at around 0:45.
…or instead of droping cash for a game do what i did and google it: We did what we could
To save this house from falling
But it burns because it’s wood
And now youll never call me darling
I coughed your name
I smoked all day
And I slept myself sleepy
I was sleeping it away
Don’t let it burn
Don’t get confused
Don’t let it get to you
We did what we could
To save this car from crashing
Your pretty face is soaked in blood
You know, I still find you dashing
Airbag suffocates
You need a little space
The rain on the windshield
I watched you limp away
Doesn’t it have to hurt?
Don’t get confused
Don’t let it bother you
Don’t try to call
You’ll lose it all
You get used to her bad news,
It’s just bad news
Those are lyrics!… To House Fire, not Anne Elephant. I’ve been singing along to that one for years. Thanks for trying though!
After much googling, the lyrics that sound the closest are:
someone has switched it out of all this
so we put into a bottle
a small parchment tied with band
til we noticed, quite conclusively,
a raw and breathing pattern
being scribbled out by hands in the middle of the sand
so i dig, and i dug,
until i couldn’t dug no more
i have reached God’s island shore, thank God it’s home
and then pound this little mound
without needin’ no kettle drum
if I’m your prisoner of intolerance, that is alright.
i’m going to get you
i’m going to get you, anne
only alone
you don’t know what it’s like
or maybe you do
maybe you do
