#93 is Johan “The Mule” Franzen, one of several Swedes (woo!) on the Red Wings. In case you were wondering. (You were.)
Gah, okay so this move prep/finishing up one job/getting car repairs/other chaos has really screwed with this week. (Why all the tweets? Trying to stay awake, trying to stay sane-ish).
This comic ended up with a couple of shout outs though! In order of appearance!
Ginger’s Shirt is the “Rock Shirt” from Imy the Comic!
Ryan’s shirt is of the band Ha Ha Tonka, another band I love getting to see and hang out with. They’re currently doing more touring (and have been for a few weeks) and you should go check them out if they’re playing near you. Tell them I sent you!
The record Ginger’s holding in the last panel is Via Audio‘s new album, Animalore. It’s a pretty great album and they’ve been going around, doing some shows lately too (I keep expecting a fully tour soon). Apparently, Ginger got to go to one of these since the album’s release. I had to order my vinyl online. It’s a great listen and I’ll leave you with one of my favorite songs from it, “The Lizard Song”:
Blargh blargh blargh
A week before I leave. Everything is chaos. (donations would help maybe?)
I think Ryan is playing on Ginger’s dislike of Crystal Skull a little bit.
Also, this totally explains my fear of spiders away as a legitimate archaeology thing. Yep.
For those who haven’t heard this song, it’s from Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin‘s first album Broom. And look, someone put it on YouTube, so here’s that video for your listening enjoyment:
SSLYBY is on a little mini tour right now and if you can go to one of the shows, DO IT. Tell them I sent you. If you go to either of the shows in Michigan, I’m more than likely going to be there, so say hi.
The driving around the state is not only to see some friends play some awesome shows (including new music from their upcoming third album) but to give my car a much bit of a travel stress test in prep of the upcoming longer drive. I need to see how many more repairs need to be made. I’ve already spent a bit of money fixing it up so if you’d be so kind, check out of blog post below and spare some change (or a some cash and get a print!) to help me make my trip and still afford to keep the site up. Thanks!
Man, he loves to talk. The comic would have lost nothing if I had dropped the second panel, but it just didn’t feel right for him. He’s basically written himself, and he writes a lot.
His plans for the renewal of the street/area are a combination of some interesting ideas that I’m going to need to write up some time because there’s no way in hell I’m allowing him to talk for a million panels to share the details.
The nice part of a talkative character? Easily provides exposition. The bad part? Fills the comic with text text text text. (Another nice part is the added bit of humor when he’s shut up.)
I’m sure this has been done a million times before, but honestly, you can’t help but make the quote when you’re in this situation.
Also, the neighborhood is slightly rundown, it’s not all that bad. So even that part of the quote isn’t exactly accurate.
So, remember a couple weeks ago when I had to not update because I was trying to keep my job? Hahaha, those were great times. While guess what! I’m leaving that job at the end of the month. Why? Because I’ve got a better job for duration of the summer!

Yes, I’m off to do archaeology once again! I’ll be headed out to the Stanislaus National Forest, just outside of Yosemite National Park in Northern California. And man, is it going to be a lot of fun. But what does this mean for the comic, you might ask!
Well, hopefully, not much in the way of bad news. While it’s true I’ll be online much less, I still know where to go to access the Internet and will be using much of my time off (and away from the Internet) to draw more comics. So updates should stay strong. It might just take me longer to respond to e-mails.
However, this next month leading to my trip out West will possibly be more shaky in terms of updates. As well as the week I drive across the country to get there. Which leads me to a plea for help. You’ve likely seen the sad Ginger with a tip jar to the left. Well, clicking her takes you to PayPal, where you can drop me a donation. If you follow me on Twitter, you know I’m spending money this month on various car repairs for this trip. These are bound to cut into my available funds for travel. And then after the trip, I have to get ready to renew the hosting. So what I’m asking for is donations to help keep the comic going. (A working car also means that once I’m out there, I can make my occasional trip to the Internet.) The donations are not without reward. Donate at least $1 and get a wallpaper version of the Adventure Ginger above. And if you donate over $30, I’ll mail you a beautiful signed print of the image! (International donors, if you could spare a couple extra dollars for the increased cost of shipping, that would be appreciated.) These are limited prints and you’ll only be able to get one by donating before May 15th, as after I’m settled I’m going to take the list of $30+ donors and printing out just the prints for them.
I’m really looking forward to this summer and will do my best to not only keep the comic updating, but share some of the cooler things that happen with you all. Thanks for reading and thanks for the support!
Whoop! I have to wake up in less than 6 hours for 8 hours of work! So I’ll be posting the finished comic in the afternoon. Sorry about that.
There we go. Sorry that took so long. Some exciting stuff is going on as well as normal time consuming activities. I plan on making a post about it this week, so stay tuned!
Also! Ginger’s Bread is “Comic of the Week” over at Precocious! Another goal accomplished! Thanks Chris! You find people should go read it, it’s a great comic!
Being a business man with many a connection, Ryan’s dad gave them information relating to some of the businesses he owns and does business with so that they can find deals in the initial start up of the business. He also provided, as mentioned, a listing of some of his available properties.
Oh Ginger, you apparently must always be in a state of disappointment. … No wonder she gives me such a hard time.
